How can we help?
Find quick answers about microphone access, voice profiles, sessions, privacy, and deleting data stored on your device.
Contact supportMicrophone access
HummingLab needs microphone permission for voice profiling and live pitch feedback during guided humming. If permission was denied:
iPhone or iPad
Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, then enable HummingLab. You can also look for HummingLab in the main Settings app list.
Android
Open Settings → Apps → HummingLab → Permissions → Microphone, then choose “Allow only while using the app.” Menu names may vary by device.
If pitch feedback still does not respond, confirm another app is not using the microphone, move to a quieter room, and restart HummingLab.
What happens to your voice
Microphone audio is analyzed on your device to estimate pitch, frequency relationships, harmonics, and signal quality. Raw audio is not recorded, saved, or uploaded. Profile names and derived measurements remain in HummingLab’s local app storage unless you delete them.

A short voice profile helps HummingLab choose practical vocal routes for that person. Use a separate local profile for each person who uses the same device. If results seem inconsistent, create a fresh profile in a quiet environment and hum at a comfortable, natural level.
Delete data stored on your device
HummingLab currently has no online account and does not maintain a server-side voice database.
- To remove one person, open that person’s profile, choose the remove or delete option, and confirm.
- To remove all local HummingLab data on iPhone or iPad, delete the HummingLab app.
- On Android, delete the app or open Settings → Apps → HummingLab → Storage and choose Clear storage or Clear data.
Restoring the app from an Apple or Google device backup may restore backed-up local data. Device backups are managed in your platform account settings.
